Mold In The Home
Mold in the home can become a real serious problem.
There are 3 mold groups. Allergenic, Pathogenic and Toxic.
Allergenic Molds can cause allergic symptoms such as wheezing and runny nose.
Pathogenic Molds can cause suppressed immune systems or can cause serious health effects in persons with an already decreased immune system.
Toxic Molds can cause serious health effects in almost everyone. These effects may be short term irritations or may lead to cancer.
All Homes Have Mold Spores. The question is are they growing and creating a problem.
Limited Sampling, Limited sampling is taking samples of possible mold in order to determine the type and risks posed. Again, all homes have mold spores it is only under certain conditions that they grow to numbers that may be an issue.
Mold needs two things to grow, moisture and heat. The more of either the more it grows. Mold begins to grow at temperatures above 32F. Leaky pipes in walls, leaks from the roof, floods and damp crawl spaces are some of the moisture sources that can promote mold growth.
